Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): Severe thunderstorms have pushed out of the region while a few light rain showers linger. Dense fog will develop overnight.
Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s latest forecast and severe weather footage:
TONIGHT: The sky will clear and fog will develop. Watch for the moon…. it’s now more than 50% visible in the evening sky.
SATURDAY: The day will start out with fog, then sunshine will develop. A round of isolated storms (30% coverage in our region) possible at midday. Additional showers and storms are likely in the evening into very early Sunday. Heavy rain and gusty winds likely in the storms. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is possible for the evening round of storms.
SUNDAY: A shower could occur in the afternoon, but the humidity will begin to clear out later in the day.
MONDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY: Canadian high pressure will bring refreshing temperatures with a high near 80 degrees and lows in the mid to upper 50s. No rain.
THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY: A shower or thunderstorm is possible late Thursday afternoon but likely on Friday afternoon ahead of the next cold front.
IN THE TROPICS: A low pressure that recently pushed off the African coast has access to very warm water and will likely develop into Tropical Storm Emily Monday or Tuesday. The progressive weather pattern in the Lower 48 will likely keep the storm far off the East Coast.
