Dr. Michael Toney Kelly has been named as the unofficial director for Region 6 at the West Virginia First Foundation.
Region 6 encompasses most of the WOAY viewing area.
The results were tabulated after candidates were nominated. The candidates on the ballot were Dr. Michael Toney, Dr. Drema Mace Hill, and Commissioner Greg Puckett.
The results will now be certified before becoming official. The process will take seven days.
The West Virginia First Foundation was created by the West Virginia legislature to oversee the distribution of funds from the state’s settlement with major opioid companies.
Each of the six regions will hold a meeting to elect a director to represent their region at the foundation.
