Weather Update: Wild Pressure Swings, Multi-Faceted Storm Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): High pressure will weaken and a waterlogged storm system promises rain to conclude the weekend.

TONIGHT: Frost once again under clear skies and calm wind with chilly 20s.

FRIDAY TO SATURDAY: A bountiful supply of sunshine with temperatures warming into the 50s. Humidity will drop to 20% Friday afternoon, so a Dry Skin Alert is in effect! The wind will turn breezy Saturday afternoon and evening.

SUNDAY TO TUESDAY: Below is a breakdown of the impacts from the upcoming storm.

RAIN: Arrives by Noon Sunday and ends Monday evening. Total: 0.50-1.0 inch. No flooding is expected.

SNOW: Rain changes to snow Monday evening and ends Monday morning by daybreak. Snowfall totals will range from a coating (not enough to measure) for the New River Gorge communities and Greenbrier Valley to 0.5-1″ at and above 2,000 feet (most of the region) to 2-3″ above 3,000 feet.

ICY PATCHES: Likely on secondary roads, sidewalks and driveways early Tuesday.

FOG: Dense fog with visibility under 1/4 mile along the eastern slopes of the Greenbrier Valley (Sandstone Mountain, etc) on Sunday into Monday morning.

WIND: Peak gusts will reach 30-35 mph on Monday, which could trigger a few power hits above 3,000 feet.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY: Lots of sunshine with seasonable temperatures.
