Weather Update: Stormy Evening Followed By Cooler, Less Humid Trend

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): A cold front pushing across the western Ohio Valley will spark showers and storms this evening.

Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill has the latest forecast:

TONIGHT: A few showers and storms will push across the region this evening. Briefly heavy rain will trigger very localized flash flooding in poor drainage areas. Expect a break in the rain and then a final round of showers with embedded thunder is expected shortly after Midnight. Dense fog will develop before daybreak.

FRIDAY: A changeable day (for the better) is expected with early fog and humid weather. After 10 a.m., expect clearing skies, slightly cooler and much less humid weather!

WEEKEND: Pleasant lows in the 50s and comfortable highs ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s with low humidity. It will remain dry.

EARLY NEXT WEEK: Another low pressure will foster a few showers Monday (best chance in the Greenbrier Valley) and Tuesday region-wide.

MIDWEEK: An amplifying heat ridge across the West and Central U.S. will push temperatures above average, but the weather remains dry.
