Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): A recent strong geomagnetic storm has initiated the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
The Planetary K index recently reached 7, which is strong enough for the Northern Lights to be seen as far south as the Mid-Atlantic. The Kp index is dropping, but there is still a chance if you look off to the north that you could see the show. A Strong Geomagnetic Storm Alert remains in effect.
