Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): The bitter cold blast is on its way out and a much warmer trend will resume.
TEMPERATURES: Thursday through Sunday will be dominated by above average temperatures. Colder weather is on the horizon Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
PRECIPITATION: Showers are likely Friday but rain amounts will be meager. The next opportunity for precipitation will be Monday with rain showers followed by snow flurries/snow showers on Tuesday. Pocahontas County will see 1-3″ of snow accumulation with the remainder of the region likely seeing the next dusting.
NORTHERN LIGHTS: A Geomagnetic Storm Watch (G3: Strong) is in effect for December 1 from a recent Coronal Mass Ejection. This will trigger the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) to be visible across the northern U.S. Perhaps they will be visible as far south as our region on Friday, December 1, but due to the clouds and light rain, visibility will be limited.
HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFF GAMES IN WHEELING FRIDAY-SATURDAY: A mild pattern with dry weather is expected in Wheeling for the games on Friday evening and late Saturday.
