Crash In Naoma leaves one dead, another in jail

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) -Raleigh County Sheriffs are investigating a fatal car crash in Naoma.

Authorities report that yesterday, a man driving a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 west on Coal River Road left the right side of the road, hitting a rock wall and two trees before returning to rest in the middle of the road.

During the collision, the passenger, identified as Jennifer Bowe, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver, identified as Timothy Underwood, senior, suffered minor injuries in the accident.

Authorities investigating the scene discovered evidence that led them to arrest Underwood for driving while impaired, causing death, and driving a revoked license due to Dui.

After receiving medical attention, authorities transported Underwood to Southern Regional Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and Newswatch will provide more information as it is made available.
