Sophia, WV (WOAY) – Raleigh County Sheriffs are investigating a fatal shooting.
Around 4:00 am, deputies responded to a call reporting a shooting on Virginia Street in Sophia.
Raleigh County authorities are processing the scene for evidence and investigating the incident’s circumstances.
Deputies report that they have identified the shooter and are currently interviewing them.
Authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s name as of yet.
Raleigh County sheriffs are also withholding the victim’s name to allow them more time to notify family and friends.
