The wildfire risk remains high throughout southern West Virginia.
Just below Grandview on the other side of the New River, a fire is burning at the top down to the bottom of the gorge, as you can see in this exclusive footage that WOAY captured earlier this afternoon.
The flames are far less dramatic than they were overnight and this morning, but still causing a fight. According to Dave Bieri, a public information officer at the New River Gorge National Park, Crews are continuing to fight the fire as it spans over a hundred acres.
