Warm Fall Pattern Set to Emerge Across Region

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): Low pressure will trigger a brief sprinkle or shower late Thursday and/or Friday afternoon followed by a prolonged dry, warm stretch of weather.

Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s latest forecast:

Arthritis sufferers will likely steer clear of aches and pains through the next seven days thanks to this developing pattern. A blocking pattern in the atmosphere will lead to high pressure ruling the weather Saturday through Thursday. After a patch of fog, sunshine will develop, then a few fair weather cumulus in the afternoon.

The next cold front we are following will arrive late Thursday or early Friday (October 5-6), with rain followed by cooler temperatures. We are likely looking at a hard frost that will end the growing season during the week of October 9-13.

Chad went to Rainelle to check out the fall foliage for tonight’s evening newscast!
