Veterans Memorial Museum in Hinton to hold flag retirement ceremony

If you have a flag that is worn out and needs to be replaced, then the Veterans Memorial Museum of Southern West Virginia can help you retire the old one.

It’s happening at the museum on Ballengee Street in Hinton on Sept. 23, starting at 5 p.m. The ceremony will feature the retirement of flags that are no longer fit for display.

According to the U.S. Flag Code, flags that are too worn out to be displayed should be destroyed in a dignified way.
