Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): High pressure will bring a warming trend through midweek before a short-term pattern change brings rain and cooler weather.
TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY: Clear skies at night are expected. Tuesday will bring more clouds and slightly higher humidity, which will slightly reduce the risk for any developing brush fire to spread. However, low 70s, a breezy wind and low humidity will elevate the fire risk on Wednesday.
THURSDAY INTO THE WEEKEND: A few rain showers are expected Thursday into Friday but amounts will only be around 0.25″. Temperatures will drop on Friday, but we are expecting any rain to wrap up before high school playoff games. Bundle up if you are headed to any of these games with low 40s, dropping into the 30s.
LOOK AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK AND THANKSGIVING WEEKEND: A warming trend is expected after early next week. We will be in record territory for high temperatures the weekend before Thanksgiving. We are expected above-average temperatures for Thanksgiving Day. The average low temperature is 33 degrees and high temperature is 50 degrees. The warmest weather in the U.S. will be focused from the Upper Midwest to the Great Lakes. A modified cooler, but more seasonable air mass will likely push into the Mid-Atlantic for the second half of Thanksgiving weekend.
