Toyota recall almost two million RAV4 compact SUVs due to potential fire risk

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Toyota is recalling nearly two million RAV4 compact SUVs.

The automaker reported that over 1.8 million vehicles from 2013 through 2018 carry a potential fire risk caused by replacement batteries.

Some of the batteries have incorrect dimensions, which could cause them to shake loose and start a fire if the vehicle makes a sharp turn.

Toyota said it is working to remedy the issue at no cost to owners.

Those affected by the recall will be notified in December.

In the meantime, owners can enter their vehicle info on the Toyota website or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website for recalls.
