Beckley Police identify suspect in shooting that left two people injured

Beckley, WV (WOAY-TV): The Beckley Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred last night. 

Authorities state that they responded to a call reporting shots fired at a residence on the 100 block of Grant Street around 8:40 p.m. 

Upon arrival, authorities discovered that two male suspects had been engaged in an argument that resulted in them exchanging gunfire. 

The gunshots struck two individuals, the resident of the home and an innocent bystander, who were transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect, 39-year-old Ryan Bayne Durgan. 

Durgan is 5 foot 11 inches tall, weighs 220 pounds, and was reportedly last seen near Thomas Street in Beckley. 

Durgan currently faces charges of malicious wounding, wanton endangerment, and unlawful possession of a firearm. 

The investigation remains active, and authorities anticipate further charges.
