WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Following another mild day, a Nor’easter will bring light rain Sunday followed by wind and snow early next week.
RAIN: Starts around daybreak Sunday and ends in the evening with amounts less than 0.50″. No flooding is expected.
FOG: Dense fog will develop Sunday morning in the Greenbrier Valley with visibility around 1/4 mile during the afternoon. The fog will break up Sunday evening as a dry northwest wind develops.
WIND: 1 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday will be the strongest winds; sustained at 10-20 mph with gusts 25-30 mph, reaching 35 mph above 3,000 feet. Isolated power outages are possible above 3,000 feet.
SNOW: Heavy snow is expected between 4-8 p.m. Monday, and then occasional flurries and snow showers expected through Tuesday morning. Our snowfall forecast is below:
PAVED SURFACES & ROADWAYS: Icy spots are expected overnight Monday as paved surfaces drop below freezing. However, the only plowable snow will be in western Pocahontas county.
A transition to milder and dry weather is expected by midweek.
