Moore leaving Beckley Art Center, to take position with Tamarack and WVSU

Robby Moore is leaving his position as Executive Director of the Beckley Art Center to work with artists statewide. He has taken a position as an arts extension educator with the Tamarack and Foundation for the Arts and West Virginia State University.

“My main objective with this change is to grow professionally, in ways I hope will continue to benefit Beckley Art Center and our local art community,” Moore said. “My time at BAC has been challenging, exciting, and extremely gratifying. I hope that my efforts fostered Beckley Art Center’s mission and will continue to benefit the organization and it’s members for many more years.”

According to a letter sent to members and artists of the Beckley Art Center, Mandy Lester will be the new Administrative Coordinator and will take on some of his former responsibilities.

In a Facebook post, the Beckley Art Center thanked Moore for his work and wished him the best in his new role.

“We would like to thank him for his years spent with us at BAC, fostering our mission and cultivating a thriving local art community,” the post said in part. “We couldn’t be more grateful for his hard work and dedication to the Beckley Art Center. We cannot wait to see where his new journey takes him!”
