Gifts distributed from Fayette County Sheriff’s giving tree

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has delivered gifts to its conservators through the giving tree program.

The 31 people in the program received so many gifts that there was actually a surplus. Those gifts were given to people in assisted living homes around the area.

The Giving Tree held stars representing the needs and wants of the conservators.

County residents would grab a star and bring back the items requested. Then, the sheriff’s office would wrap and hand-deliver them.

Sheriff Fridley thanked the people who participated.

“I would like to thank everyone who provided support for The Giving Tree project for the fifth year. You have helped put a smile on many faces including mine,” Fridley said. “Thank you and Merry Christmas!’
