Fayette County courthouse to re-open on Monday with strict guidelines and modifications

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Commission is implementing strict guidelines to protect staff and the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Fayette County Commission is telling all employees not to come into work sick and do not come to work if you have a fever.  Employees are also not allowed to congregate together in offices or break rooms.

Everyone must wear a form of face covering, follow CDC guidelines for social distancing, and practice good hygiene.

The general public entrance for the courthouse will be the entrance and exit at the back of the building by the handicap ramp.

The courthouse annex entrance and exit is on the 2nd floor, magistrate court entrance.  The general public must enter and leave the building at one door.

If you can continue to conduct business via telephone or online, you are encouraged to do so.  Every person needing to conduct business will be given a card when they enter, indicating which office they will be conducting business in, and they will return to the deputy as they exit.

Each individual will be pre-screened to make sure you don’t have any symptoms of COVID-19. If you do, you will be denied entry.  If you are allowed inside, you are encouraged to practice social distancing, wear a mask, washing hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid touching your face.
