West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is joining 33 other states in a lawsuit against Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
The lawsuit alleges that Meta’s social media platforms are harming children… and that Meta knows and is ignoring this harm.
The attorney generals bringing the lawsuit say that Meta is breaking the consumer protection laws in their states and the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
It caps off a collaborative, bipartisan investigation that began in 2021.
