Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) –  Due to fire and laceration hazards, Blend-jet is recalling almost five million of its BlendJet 2 portable blenders.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the blenders can overheat or catch fire, and the blades can break off.

The company has received over 300 reports of blades breaking off while in use.

Additionally, BlendJet received 17 reports of overheating and fires resulting in property damage claims.

The company says there have been 49 reports of minor burns and one report of someone getting cut.
