Zach has been fascinated with weather ever since he was four years old when a funnel cloud passed over his home in Michigan. Since then, Zach spent countless hours watching local TV meteorologists and the weather channel to learn as much about the weather as he possibly could. In 2010, Zach moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he got the experience of going through tropical cyclones and hurricanes.
After graduating high school, Zach attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, to study meteorology. Zach graduated in May of 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology and minors in Applied Mathematics and Geographic Information Systems. At Embry-Riddle, Zach was a teaching assistant for the broadcast meteorology courses and hosted a bi-weekly weather show on Facebook. Additionally, Zach also had the pleasure of job shadowing at WWSB in Sarasota and WESH in Orlando, where he was able to better his skills in front of the camera.
Zach is a huge fan of severe weather, especially thunderstorms and tornadoes. Outside of work, he enjoys watching football and motorsports, playing videogames, and spending time with family and friends.
