Wyoming County Substitute Bus Driver Arrested For Sexual Abuse

JUSTICE, WV (WOAY) – One man arrested after he strangled a victim unconscious and sexually abused him.

According to State Police, on Thursday May 27, 2018, the victim went to RD Bailey Campground to fish.  The victim stated a male he did not know, which was later identified as Kyle Toler of Hanover, WV, came down to the river where he was at and stated that he was planning on fishing and wanted to check the water.  When the victim went back to his truck, Toler followed him.

The victim took his pants off that were over his shorts planning to get in the water, Toler grabbed his genitals through his shorts and strangled him unconscious.

When the victim started to wake up he observed Toler performing sexual acts on him. Toler noticed him waking up and he ran to his truck and left.

The victim was afraid to tell his parents so he reached out to a friend.  The friend stated that the description sounded like her ex-boyfriend and she sent him an image of Kyle Toler. The victim stated that was the man that sexually abused him.

When police interviewed Toler later in July, Toler told officers that he was a substitute school bus driver and that he worked all day.  When asked if he would submit to a polygraph examination and oral DNA samples, he said not until he had an opportunity to speak with an attorney.

Toler’s mom let the officials search his phone and see messages the day the incident occurred.

Toler was arrested and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree and strangulation.  He is currently out on bond.
