Wyoming County man arrested for sexual abuse

Christopher York accused of sexual abuse

KOPPERSTON, WV (WOAY) – A Wyoming County man is in jail facing an alleged sexual abuse charge.

According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy responded to the town of Kopperston for a sex offense complaint.  When they arrived, the victim stated that she had picked her brother in law up to take him home.  Christopher York, who lives with the brother-in-law, asked the victim for a ride to the store.

During the ride, York started touching the victim inappropriately and making vulgar remarks to her.  He grabbed her leg and continue to touch her inappropriately.  The victim told York to stop, and he wouldn’t.  The victim says York tried to kiss her and grabbed her chest area.

York is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and is in Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
