PINEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Like every county, Wyoming County is in need of personal protective equipment for their first responders.
The 911 Center says they are instructing the first responders to treat every call like the person is COVID-19 positive. Director Dean Meadows says this is both a good and bad thing for the county.
“That way they can be more prepared for when they go in, and with that being said, when we go into each call like that, the PPE is compromised, and then there’s going to need to be more, and we’re having a difficult time getting all the PPE for our first responders and our police officers,” he said.
Meadows worries that because Wyoming County is small and doesn’t have a case yet that it won’t be a priority when it comes to PPE allotment.
