Wyoming Co. Schools now dismissing early for eclipse Monday

WYOMING CO., WV (FACEBOOK POST) – After further consideration and out of an abundance of caution regarding student safety and the solar eclipse, Wyoming County Schools will dismiss early on Monday, August 21, 2017. High schools will dismiss at 10:00 and elementary and middle schools will dismiss at 11:00. Any outdoor sports practices may be held after 4:00 p.m. Indoor sports practices can be held immediately following school dismissal. Coaches should use caution in choosing when to dismiss from practice.

All students should be home well in advance of the beginning of the eclipse. Please caution children extensively about the serious danger of directly viewing the eclipse, even for a short period of time. We apologize for any confusion.

Please call your child’s school or the central office if you have any questions. Thank you!
