Wyoming Co. baby on life support; Has broken bones and brain hemorrhaging

WYOMING CO., WV (WOAY) – A baby found unresponsive at a couple’s home in Mullens Friday is still on life support today at CMAC.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Jimmy White told WV MetroNews affiliate WJLS that they, “Found the baby suffering from severe brain hemorrhaging, damaged retinas, broken bones and a “severely damaged” tongue and lip.

Because of HIPAA laws, the hospital won’t release any more information Chief Deputy White told the radio station.

Deputies arrested Gregory Church Jr, 25, and Crystal Thomas, 24. They’ve been charged with felony counts of child neglect. Chief Deputy White says he expects more charges will be filed.

Church and Thomas are both at the Southern Regional Jail on $50,000 bond each.
