WVU-NC State to Not Play Saturday

WOAY – The West Virginia-North Carolina State game, originally scheduled for 3:30 PM Saturday, will not be played this weekend due to the impending weather conditions associated with Hurricane Florence.

A statement posted on the websites for both athletic departments reads in part that “emergency management resources are expected to be fully utilized and needed throughout the region, and today’s decision will help give ample time to deploy those resources across the state of North Carolina.”

West Virginia’s next scheduled game is September 22 against Kansas State in Morgantown, scheduled for a 3:30 PM kickoff.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there has been no decision on whether to move the Marshall-South Carolina game in Columbia, South Carolina, though the South Carolina campus is closed from Tuesday until further notice under orders from Governor Henry McMaster. That game is originally scheduled for a 7:30 PM kickoff on Saturday.
