WVU football player tests positive for COVID-19

WOAY – WVU Athletics announced Monday that a football player has tested positive for COVID-19, and will go into self-quarantine for the next 14 days.

In a statement, the department says “As part of the department’s health and safety protocol, contact tracing procedures were initiated and identified additional football student-athletes who could have been exposed.  Those additional student-athletes will also be mandated to self-quarantine per the department’s plan.”

Voluntary workouts began today for players who have previously tested negative. Big 12 Media Days will be conducted virtually next month, with West Virginia scheduled for Tuesday, July 21.
