WVU Baseball Defeats Virginia Tech, 10-5

WOAY – West Virginia baseball put two weekend losses behind them as the Mountaineers beat Virginia Tech 10-5 Wednesday night in Morgantown.

The Mountaineers scored in each of the first four innings, jumping out to a 7-0 lead, with all starting batters recording at least one hit. Brandon White, Darius Hill, and Ivan Gonzalez each had two RBI, while eight pitchers accounted for nine strikeouts.

The win was WVU’s eighth straight against a non-conference opponent, going back to the start of last month’s three-game series with UNLV. They now have 18 non-conference wins in 2018.

West Virginia heads on the road this weekend to TCU. They return to Morgantown next week for games against Marshall & Baylor.
