WVDNR accepting artist submissions for West Virginia Wildlife Calendar until February 12

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) is calling all creatives for an awesome opportunity to share their art.

The division is seeking artists to submit their wildlife paintings for the 2027 West Virginia Wildlife Calendar.

The WVDNR chooses 12 paintings annually for its award-winning calendar and encourages all artists, especially those from the mountain state, to submit their art.

A $200 prize will be awarded to each artist whose painting is selected for the calendar, and the artist chosen for the cover will win an additional $500.

Art must be original, color paintings on canvas or another flat surface.

Submissions should depict native game and fish species or other wildlife found in West Virginia.

The calendar is horizontal, and art should be at least 14.5 inches wide by 11.5 inches high.

Paintings depicting hunting or fishing activities may be submitted

The submission deadline is February 12.

Artists may send multiple paintings.

Any previous submissions that the WVDNR did not choose are eligible for resubmission.

Send digital copies of paintings of at least 300 dpi to Sanya.D.George@wv.gov.
