WV COVID hospitalizations rise to 127

CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY) – ​The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) reports as of July 28, 2021, there have been 3,110,060 total confirmed laboratory results received for COVID-19, with 166,493 total cases and 2,939 deaths.

DHHR has confirmed the deaths of an 87-year old male from Webster County, an 87-year old female from Fayette County, and a 54-year old male from Logan County.
“We mourn the loss of these West Virginians and send our deepest sympathies to their loved ones,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. “I urge you to schedule your COVID vaccine today.”

As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested.
