Woodrow Wilson High School celebrates Homecoming with their annual parade downtown

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY)- It’s that time of year when everyone goes back to their alma mater to celebrate the time-honored tradition of homecoming!

Woodrow Wilson is celebrating this week ahead of the game with a parade and more. During their parade, they had 20+ groups parade downtown.

They had the nominees for the various courts, such as homecoming and prom, the athletic and spirit teams at Woodrow, local elementary schools and so much more. The local community and kids had a blast watching and collecting all the candy that was thrown.

After the parade, the spirit continued at the football field for their Meet the Flying Eagles event. This event showcased the students in each athletic and spirit team that fans will watch this fall season. Each student was recognized individually as a part of their respective team.

They hope their school spirit will bring home a win at the game.

Woodrow will play Preston County at 7 p.m. this Friday for their homecoming game.
