Winter’s Last Gasp?; More Rainy Days Ahead

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Scattered showers will be passing the area throughout the day today, clearing up around evening time. However, the rain is far from over for the week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

As the scattered showers leave, we will have a bit of a break before another cold front comes through the area overnight. This front brings snow and rain along with it, with a dusting to around three quarters of an inch expected in the mountains. This snowy cooldown is potentially winter’s last gasp, although cooler temperatures will prevail through the week.

Wednesday will be the best day of the week as sunny skies and seasonable temperatures give the area some relief from the rain and snow. The next low pressure system will come through on Thursday with more rain, which will last into Saturday. The backend of the front will come through Friday and linger into the first morning of the weekend. Sunday will be drier but cloudy across the area as the system finally heads for the Atlantic.

Make sure to have your rain coat on the ready and to be careful on the roads as they continue to stay slick from the rain and potential snow.
