White Sulphur Springs Man Charged After Punching A Woman And Strangling Her

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (WOAY) – A Greenbrier County man arrested for punching a woman in the face several times and strangling her.

On Monday, November 5, 2018, Ptlm. J. Kirk responded to a domestic in progress on Ingleside Avenue in White Sulphur Springs. Upon arrival Ptlm. Kirk made contact with a female victim at the residence who had been assaulted. The male had punched the female in the face several times and strangled her before leaving the scene on foot.

Ptlm. Kirk obtained a clothing description and the male was identified as Charles William Moore. Ptlm. Kirk determined he saw the male entering the Shell station on Main Street while en route to the call and upon returning to the Shell station Moore was located and placed under arrest.

When Ptlm. Kirk returned to the residence with Moore to obtain photos where the assault occurred a small baggie of what appeared to be Methamphetamine and Marijuana were found in plain view on the floor where the male had assaulted the victim.

Moore was charged with Domestic Battery, Strangulation, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana. Moore was remanded to Southern Regional Jail pending arraignment in Greenbrier County Magistrate Court.
