West Virginia State Police to conduct sobriety checkpoint in Beckley on April 30

Beckley, WV (WOAY)- The West Virginia State Police (WVSP) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Raleigh County on Wednesday, April 30. 

The checkpoint will take place along U.S. Route 19, approximately 1 mile south of the intersection with WV Route 41 on Johnstown road in Beckley from 6:00 pm to midnight. 

The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of operating a vehicle while under the influence.  

WVSP urge the public to assist them in preventing drunk driving by reporting intoxicated and drug-impaired drivers to local authorities.
