West Virginia ranked almost last as best state to live in

WEST VIRGINIA (WOAY) – The state of West Virginia has been ranked as the next-to-the-last worst state to live in – according to a new study.

24/7 Wall St. looked at three statewide social and economic measures – the poverty rate, educational attainment, and life expectancy at birth – to rank each state’s living conditions.

West Virginia came in at 49th, followed by Mississippi.

Our population shrank slightly over the last five years, the unemployment rate of 6.0% is fourth highest of all states, and the poverty rate of almost 18% is among the highest in the nation.
