West Virginia Flu Warnings

The CDC has listed West Virginia as having widespread flu activity, along with high rates of hospital visits for flu-like symptoms.

The Herald Dispatch reports 293 West Virginians have died from either pneumonia or the flu, from October to December 17th.

People with greatest risk include young children, seniors over the age of 65, pregnant women, individuals with other illnesses, or medical issues.

Health officials are encouraging anyone who has not gotten the flu shot, to get one.
