West Virginia boy killed by family pet

HUNTINGTON, WV (AP) – Services are scheduled this week for a 6-year-old West Virginia boy who died when he was attacked by a family dog.

According to an obituary at Collins Funeral Home, services for Isaiah Jacob Franklin of Huntington will be held Wednesday at the funeral home chapel in Switzer, near Logan.

Huntington Animal Control shelter director Scott Iseli said Tuesday the pit bull involving in last week’s attack remains at the shelter pending the outcome of a prosecutor’s effort to euthanize the dog.
