GHENT, WV (WOAY) – It’s been a wild, wonderful eight years since Weathered Ground Brewery first opened its doors.
To celebrate, they threw an all-day party with great beer, great people, and a fantastic live music lineup.
Moving to the Mountain State to share their vision has been a dream.
“My wife is an attorney and a beer lover. I was a beer brewer in Charlotte, and we had a lot of friends and family who loved the product we made,” Owner/Operator Sam Fonda said.
“We wanted to share that with the rest of West Virginia.”
According to Fonda, while WGB is right off the turnpike, it feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere out there in their big field.
“Not like a lot of places in urban areas where it’s a lot of hustle and bustle,” he said.
“Here, everybody sits in the backyard with a beer and some pizza, watching the deer walk around, sort of a unique experience.”
