Warmer Pattern Will Persist Into The Holiday Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A return to a strong Pacific jet stream will ensure the next week is warm with melting snow.

SYNOPSIS: A Pacific flow will ensure temperatures return above average this weekend. Initially expect a heavy frost and chilly temperatures each morning through Friday. Christmas will be mild and dry until 8-9 p.m., then a few showers return. A Gulf system will bring rain Tuesday into Wednesday with seasonable temperatures in its wake.

CHRISTMAS TRAVEL (THIS WEEKEND): A couple of showers from the Midwest to the Great Lakes. Heavy rain and potential storms from the Desert Southwest to southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley. Snow is expected in the Rockies and western High Plains.
