Warm, Dry Week Gives Way to Weekend Rain; Falls Returns Briefly Mid-November

While a cold front will squeeze out a few sprinkles to 0.10″ of rain Wednesday into Thursday, Tropical Storm Raphael will team up with a cold to bring weekend rain.

ELECTION DAY: Quite a breezy day with a high fire risk. Temperatures will hit 68-72 degrees along Route 19 to 60-65 degrees in the Greenbrier Valley. Rain is not expected.

WEDNESDAY TO THURSDAY: A cold front will trigger a few sprinkles to a couple of showers both days but rainfall will be less than 0.10″. The brush fire risk remains high through Friday.

TROPICAL STORM RAFAEL: Moisture from the tropical storm will team up with a cold front and bring a widespread 0.50-1.25″ of rain Saturday into Sunday. This will be followed by dry weather but no sign of autumn until later next week.

LOOKING AHEAD: We are following a cold blast that will sweep down the eastern slopes of the Rockies around November 13-14 and then reach our region November 15. It will be VERY SHORT-LIVED and by November 17-18, temperatures will be far above average again. It will offer the next opportunity for snow in Pocahontas County!
