W.V. Democratic Party Releases Statement On Teacher Pay

CHARLESTON (WOY) – The West Virginia Democratic Party released the following information regarding the teacher raise bill.

“The arrogance of Senator Mitch Carmichael and Republican leadership in the Senate is unnerving. This has become about egos and not the people of West Virginia. The 5% pay raise was supported, teachers and students were on their way back to the classroom, and we were working toward finding a solution and funding PEIA. Now, with the rule breaking and politically motivated games by Republican leadership in the Senate, our teachers and students are still in limbo.

“Republican leadership is in chaos and the people of West Virginia deserve better than that. It’s politics over people as usual for them and it’s unacceptable. The people of West Virginia need to hold them accountable, demand better, and vote them out in November.”
