Vice President Pence Kicks Off Congressional Retreat With Speech

White Sulphur Springs., WV (WOAY)– Vice President Mike Pence spent his day with West Virginia Senator Shelly Capito and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross.

The trio visited Worldwide Equipment,Inc. to discuss a range of things from tax cuts to jobs. “We cut taxes on American businesses so that they can create more jobs and raise wages right here in West Virginia,” adds Pence.

Pence also criticized Senator Joe Manchin for voting against the tax reform. Saying that, “Joe voted no to give working families more of your hard earned money Joe voted no on tax cuts of job creators.”

The energy remained high as attendees praised the Vice President on his speech today. Summersville resident Garrett Cole adds, “I think he embodies what the Trump presidency is meaning and doing for southern West Virginia.”

Caleb Hanna of Richwood said, “We saw a really optimistic Pence today, for the United States and for West Virginia.”

The CEO of Worldwide Equipment Terry Dodson took to the stage to announce that the company will be building a new dealership alongside updating their current facilities.

Just before Vice President Pence left he made sure to send his condolences to the House and Senate members.

“Our hearts go out to the families of the lost and the injured and we thank god it wasn’t worse,” Pence said.  Several GOP representatives were aboard a train heading to The Greenbrier, when it collided with a garbage truck.

President Trump is expected to make an appearance on Thursday. The Congressional Retreat will last until Friday.
