Vice President Mike Pence Visits West Virginia

It was the largest crowd the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Business Summit has ever had, as they welcomed Vice President, Mike Pence to their 81st annual meeting held at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. During Pence’s speech he addressed some of President Trump’s promises he has made to West Virginians.

“The weekly coal production in the mountain state has jump 19 percent over the last year alone. As the people of West Virginia heard the President say earlier this month in his words, we are building our future with American labor, hands, aluminum, steel, and what else? Coal,” said Vice President Mike Pence.

Pence also addressed a crucial problem that is happening in West Virginia as well as across the nation right now, the lack of jobs. Pence added, “The President’s strong conviction is and I know it is shared by many people in this room. The time has come to cut taxes across the board for working families, small businesses, and family farms.”

Senator Joe Manchin and West Virginia Chamber President also agree with Pence’s statement about cutting taxes.

“He’s right on, simplify it. The average person understands, make it fair. Someone shouldn’t be able to be at this end of the food chain and paying a much lower rate than the people who are out there digging it everyday and getting it everyday,” said Senator Joe Manchin.

President of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Steve Roberts added, “Our economy needs a jump start. It needs a boost, we need to put America back to work. We are a country that makes things, we are a country that exports things, and to do that we have to go back to work.  The policies that the Vice President is talking about here in West Virginia tonight, will put our country back to work.”
