A boil water advisory has been issued for the following area:

West Virginia American Water customers in Ansted, Victor and the surrounding areas may experience low water pressure or a disruption in water service while crews work to repair a water main break that caused the Ansted water storage tank to drain early this morning. Crews have located the break and are working to repair the line and restore service as quickly as possible.

The following areas may be impacted until repairs are complete and the system is repressurized: Ansted, Victor, Sunday Road, Hico dip, Route 60 from the hydro plant to the Harley Shop in Hico, Bachman Road after the water treatment plant and Chimney Corner. We estimated that service will be fully restored to all areas within 24 hours. Once service is restored, a precautionary boil water advisory will be in effect for these areas. Bring water used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation to a full boil for a minimum of one minute, then cool before use. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water. When the system recovers, we will be collecting water quality samples in your area that must be analyzed for a minimum of 24 hours. You will receive another message from us letting you know when this advisory is lifted.

For more information, contact our customer service center at 1-800-685-8660. We apologize for the inconvenience and will work to diligently to minimize the length and impact of this event.
