UPDATE: Reward offered leading to information about a fatal fire in Greenbrier County

UPDATE: RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office are continuing their investigation into the double homicide of Thursday, April 02, 2020.

Investigators from these agencies are requesting any information from the public regarding activities occurring in the area of River Road and the Fullen Cemetery Road, between the hours of 10:00 pm on Wednesday, April 01, 2020 and 5:00 am on Thursday, April 02, 2020, to include vehicular or pedestrian traffic. All information is welcome, including that which may appear to be insignificant or unrelated.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has authorized a $5,000.00 reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator(s).

UPDATE: RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY) – The victims of the house fire that occurred on Thursday, April 02, 2020 on Fullen Cemetery Road have been identified as Joseph Daniel Foster, age 72, and his wife Daisy Ethel Foster, age 51.

Their deaths are being investigated as a double homicide.

Members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office and the West Virginia State Police are continuing the investigation.

Lieutenant G. R. Workman, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, is the lead investigator.

UPDATE: RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY) – On Thursday, April 02, 2020, at approximately 4:54 am, Greenbrier County 911 received a call of a residential structure fire at 291 Fullen Cemetery Road near Ronceverte. Members of the Ronceverte and Fairlea Fire Departments, Fairlea EMS and the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.

Once the fire was extinguished two individuals were found deceased inside the home. The bodies of the two victims were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Charleston. Their identities are not being released at this time pending positive identification.

Lieutenant G. R. Workman, of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s office, is the lead investigator along with investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s office.

RONCEVERTE, WV (WOAY) – Greenbrier County dispatchers tell WOAY emergency crews responded to a call of a structure fire Thursday morning on River Road in Ronceverte.

According to dispatchers, the first calls came a little before 5:00 AM Thursday morning. Ronceverte and Fairlea fire departments were among the crews to arrive on the scene, along with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, Ronceverte Police Department, and Greenbrier County emergency ambulance services. Details are very limited at this time.
