UPDATE: One person taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Raleigh County

UPDATE: SHADY SPRING, WV (WOAY) – WOAY is told that the person is being taken by an ambulance and not airlifted, due to no flights available.

SHADY SPRING, WV (WOAY) – One person is being airlifted after being struck by a car in Shady Spring.

Officials tell WOAY that at around 9:45 pm a call came in of a pedestrian¬†being struck on Briarwood Drive near Shady Spring High School.¬† The persons’ age and the condition is unknown at this time.

Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, Ghent Fire, Beaver Fire, Jan-Care Ambulance, Best Ambulance, and Ghent Ambulance responded to the scene.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
