UPDATE: Oak Hill Woman Will Report To Day Center After Letting A Dog Starve To Death

UPDATE: OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County woman who abandoned a dog at home and starved it to death, pleads guilty.

Candice Adkins, 23 of Oak Hill, was fined 500.00 dollars and was ordered to report to the Day Reporting Center for 60 days, due to drug addiction.

Adkins spend 3 days in jail.

The case was heard in front of Magistrate Rick Pannell.


Original Story (2/11/2019 @ 8:15 am) OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County woman was arrested over the weekend on animal cruelty allegations.  Sheriff Mike Fridley released the following information regarding this incident.

Candice L. Adkins, 23 of Oak Hill, was arrested on warrants over the weekend obtained by the Sheriff’s Department on animal cruelty charges.  Adkins allegedly abandoned a dog in a home for an extended period, resulting in the dog starving to death.  She was arraigned the following day by the Fayette County  Magistrate’s Office.
