UPDATE: Missing Man From McDowell County Found Dead

UPDATE: WELCH (WOAY) – West Virginia State Police tells WOAY that Matthew Miller was found dead in his vehicle Saturday afternoon.

Police say Miller was found in a secluded area and they do not expect foul play; however, the investigation is still ongoing.

WELCH (WOAY) – Police need your help locating a missing man from McDowell County.

On Monday, January, 22nd, 2018, Matthew Thomas Miller, 29, from the Skygusty Area of McDowell County was reported missing by family members. Matthew was last known to be in the Bishop and Brewsterdale areas of McDowell County.

He was last seen driving a gray in color 2017 Ford F-150 bearing Virginia Registration VYA2418.

If Mr. Miller is sighted please contact the Welch Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.

The Aware Foundation Facebook Page released the following information:
Matthew Miller was last seen around 1 a.m. on January 22, 2018 in Bluefield, West Virginia. He did not show up for his job in Pennsylvania on an oil rig. He is in need of medication that he takes daily. The family is very concerned for his well being. Matthew took his cell phone with him, which last pinged 3 minutes up from the bottom of 14 Mountain on Abbs Valley Road on Monday afternoon. He is former military and is known to travel mountain roads and trails in the Number 6, Number 9, and Big Creek areas. He could also be anywhere in McDowell County. He is driving a Dark Gray Ford F-150 XL with Virginia plates VYA2418.
