Missing girl found safe in Greenbrier Co.; Two arrested

GREENBRIER COUNTY- Here is the official press release from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office:

On Thursday, December 21, 2017, at approximately 9:00 pm, Sergeant G. R. Workman and Corporal C. R. Smith of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, along with Deputy US Marshal K. Long, apprehended Charles Kraft and Christopher Rider in the Neola area of Greenbrier County. Missing juvenile Nicole Hall was located with the two accused and subsequently reunited with her family.

Christopher Shawn Rider, age 27 of Frankford, WV, was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender and parole violation. Charles Robert Kraft, age 21 of White Sulphur Springs, WV, was arrested on charges of aiding and abetting and aiding and abetting in the abduction of a child. Additional charges will be forthcoming at the conclusion of the investigation which is ongoing.

Officers conducted numerous interviews, followed up on multiple tips and leads provided by the public, as well as the execution of a search warrant, all of which culminated in locating the missing youth.

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office would like to express our appreciation to the public, other law enforcement agencies and the media for their assistance in this investigation. The combined efforts of everyone involved resulted in Nicole Hall being reunited with her family and the successful apprehension of the perpetrators.


We’re also told the U.S. Marshals Service assisted the Greenbrier Sheriff’s Department in locating Nicole Hall and also assisted in the arrest of the two men. Dan Rice with the NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) came in from Richmond to assist with the case.



GREENBRIER COUNTY  –  Nicole Hall has been found, the Amber Alert has been canceled.

Dispatchers tell WOAY News that Nicole Hall, 14, who went missing Monday has been found safe in Neola area of Greenbrier County.

Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Deputies have located and taken into custody Charles Krafft and Christopher Rider for their involvement with missing juvenile Nicole Hall.

Krafft and Rider were located together and arrested in the Neola area of Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Nicole Hall was also located with Krafft and Rider and is safe with Deputies at this time.

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY)— The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department is trying to track down Nicole Hall, a 14- year-old-female they believe is with 27-year-old Christopher Rider and 21-year-old Charles Krafft.

Hall was last seen this past Monday morning at a Super 8 Motel in Lewisburg.

An emergency alert suggests they could be headed towards either California or Florida.

She has brown eyes and blonde hair – is 5’8″ – and weighs around 104-pounds

Christopher Rider is a parole absconder and convicted sex offender in the State of West Virginia. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. This information leads law enforcement to believe that Nicole Hall may be in danger. Arrest warrants have been obtained for Christopher Rider.

They may be driving in a silver sedan.
